These things are so frustrating to photograph but I hope you like this shot? Taken early eve Cambridgeshire on River Ouse.

It's all been said really - great shot, beautiful colours. Maybe a touch heavy on the sharpening for my taste, but that's a mere quibble. Excellent stuff!

I love how vibrant the dragonfly's blue looks, and how strongly it contrasts with the neutral, earthy background. Great shot!

He's actually a Damselfly not a Dragonfly. I think it's the Common Blue Damselfly (Enallagma cyathigerum).

There are two simple ways to tell between the two;

1) Damselflies have separate eyes, Dragonflies have joined eyes.
2) At rest Damsels fold up their wings, where as Dragons always have their wings out to the side.
